Eric farming in the villages

Eric Sievert is a long-time friend of Daylight and a Bethel University student in MN who spent a semester at Daystar University in Nairobi KE studying abroad. He took time to visit Michael and the Daylight children in May and June.

Going down to the lowlands was quite the experience. It was really cool to be able to see some of the sites where Michael’s (riveting) story actually took place. I even got to take a picture of the same tree where Michael’s World Vision Sponsor Child picture had been taken years before. I also got to help till his mom’s field with a hoe, milk a cow and even slaughter (and eat) a goat…and I didn’t even get sick. The morning after we arrived I went on a walk with Michael and two of the elders up the hills and through the bush to visit the projected site of a new Daylight location in the lowlands. It’s exciting to think of the possibilities on the horizon for Daylight and the lowland Pokot.
