We will hear the words “Daylight” and “Saving” many times this weekend. I hope it reminds you that Daylight is literally saving lives.Without Daylight many of these young men would not be going to school. They might be spending their days in the hot sun herding cows, working long days picking corn on their family farms, or looking for low paying work at a local shop.
Without Daylight many of these young women would be at home taking care of their brothers and sisters. Some would be panning for flecks of gold knee deep in the river, some would already be married.
But Daylight gave these young people an opportunity to learn, to grow as leaders, and gave them a passion for serving their community.
This Daylight Savings Time, remember that you saved more than an hour, you saved lives.
